“My mission is to transform the world, one person at a time, one day at a time.”

Alejandro Chabán is a New York Times bestselling author, motivational speaker, certified nutrition and wellness consultant, and founder and CEO of Yes You Can!: the first and only healthy lifestyle with a Latin flavor.

But years before all that, he was an obese teenager who struggled with low self-esteem and feelings of hopelessness. At the age of 15, he was a staggering 314 pounds. Tormented by school bullies and trapped in a body that made it impossible to live a normal life, Alejandro became desperate to lose weight. He turned to extreme diets, developed anorexia and bulimia, and landed in the hospital after collapsing on an elevator.

As a young adult, Alejandro’s desire for belonging and acceptance motivated him to learn about nutrition and adopt a healthy lifestyle. In 2010, he published his story in his first book “De Gordo a Galán” (“From Fatty to Hottie”). The response to the book in the Hispanic community was tremendous—particularly since there was a lack of health and wellness literature tailored to Latin culture. This inspired Alejandro to dedicate his life to helping others achieve transformations like his, and he founded “Yes You Can!” in 2012.

“Alejandro’s mission is to show you how to love yourself and take care of yourself so that you can one day discover your own mission. You are valuable, important. You are spectacular and you have success written all over your future.”

In his new book, released in June 2017, “Think Skinny, Feel Fit: 7 Steps to Transform Your Emotional Weight and Have an Awesome Life,” Alejandro shares his inspiring personal journey of overcoming childhood obesity and his 7 essential steps to help people of all ages and backgrounds lose their physical and emotional weight and lead healthier, happier lives.

Through his books, business, speaking engagements, television appearances and other activities, Alejandro has empowered more than a million people around the world to transform their lives.

Previously, Alejandro was a host on Despierta América, Latin America’s #1 morning talk show. He also appeared on “Mira Quien Baila” (The “Dancing with the Stars” of the Spanish-speaking world), and was featured as one of People en Español’s 50 Most Beautiful People (2012 and 2015).
